Karen Walsh found yoga, (or maybe yoga found her) in 2010. Karen has had Multiple Sclerosis since 1995, and was searching for some natural therapies to add to her course of treatment to aid in of her overall sense of well-being. Yoga became her gateway drug to better health. Through the mindful practice of yoga Karen just feels better. Karen completed her RYT-200 training in March 2013, and in 2015 become an RYT-500. Karen is a passionate learner and continually attends Yoga Alliance recognized continuing education classes, workshops, and training. Karen is interested in the therapeutic benefits of yoga. She is certified in Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga™ and, Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Cancer Care and has studied with Larry Payne for her Prime of Life Yoga™ Certification. Karen has started a four-year journey to becoming a Certified Yoga Therapist and is currently studying with Brandt Passalacqua. She enjoys designing private practices for students with different challenges. From her own experience, Karen has learned that people with rounder bodies, can realize the benefits of yoga. Karen lives in Flemington with her partner Richard Hotchkiss who is the “cello” of Restorative Yoga with Live Cello, her son Jake, dogs and cats. Abby, her daughter, is an RYT-500 and teaches yoga in Santa Cruz, California. Whatever the season, you will find Karen in the vegetable garden.
