YOGA FOR UPPER BODY

Yoga for Upper Body Image
This class will focus on yoga for the upper body, arms, shoulders and back. Students will have the option to use light weights as part of the practice.
 

YOGA FOR LOW BACK

Yoga for low back Image
This class is designed to for students who wish to stretch and strengthen the low back. The class will end with a restorative pose.
 

PRIME OF LIFE YOGA

They say 50 is the new 30 and 60 is the new 40! Here is a special yoga class for 40 – 70 year olds.

Men and women ages 40-70 represent the largest growth population in yoga. Larry Payne, Ph.D., designed Prime of Life Yoga with just that in mind. This practice honors the changing body and lifestyles of “Midlife” adults. Karen completed her Prime of Life certification with Larry Payne in August 2015. Join her for this mixed level class for safe user-friendly poses for general health and well-being.

This practice is ideal for beginners or people returning to yoga.

GENTLE YOGA

Gentle yoga offers the benefits of yoga is a slow paced class. Most poses are seated poses, with just a few standing poses. The class ends with a either a restorative pose or short yoga nidra.

 

SLOW FLOW YOGA

In this class students will build on the beginner poses and will add additional poses. Gentle Flow Yoga will add a little slow flow based on either sun salutations or moon salutations. Focus on proper alignment and offering modifications will help students with their practice.

 

SUNRISE SUN SALUTATIONS

Say Good Morning to the Sun and start your day with a warmup for the whole body to get you going in the morning. This Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskara) Class is designed to stretch, flex, tone the muscles and relax the mind. The class incorporates the 12 Sun Salutation sequences of poses ( slowly to awaken the body at this hour). The class may be modified as a Viniyoga Sun Salutation sequence on the floor.

Add this morning yoga class to your day and you will find yourself smiling through the day.

 

MIXED LEVELS YOGA

This class is offered each Saturday morning at 10:00 and is ideal for all level practioners. The class focus is different each week and modifications are offered to adjust the poses.

 

CANDLELIGHT YOGA

This is a great class for beginner and experienced students who just want to take it slow at the end of the day.

 

RESTORATIVE YOGA

Restorative yoga is the beautiful practice of active rest. With the use of bolsters, blocks and blankets students will hold poses for several minutes allowing the body to relax and release. This gentle practice relaxes the nervous systems, promotes healing, and leaves students with an overall sense of well-being.
 

THIRTY MINUTE MEDITATION

This meditation class will provide instruction in simple and effective meditation technique, and an opportunity to practice in a group setting. This session is both discussion and practice. Join us and receive gentle coaching for your personal practice. Novices and experienced meditators are welcome!

 

SMALL GROUP YOGA

Would you like to start a small practice for you and a few friends? Consider booking a one-time event or a series with one of our instructors and a few of your friends. Your sessions can be created around a pose or a series of poses, or maybe you want to focus on a specific area in the body, or devote your sessions to learning about the chakras. This could be a great idea for a girls’ night out, a party, or a team building exercise.

YOGA FOR BABY BOOMER ATHLETES

This class offers intermediate poses for those seeking a more advanced yoga practice, created for the baby boomer athlete in mind. Modifications will be offered in this mixed level class. Join us the first three Mondays of the month at 7:00 PM. (check the calendar for up to date changes)
